The ume knot: resilience and lasting bonds

This piece features ume-musubi, a knot shaped like a plum blossom with five softly rounded petals. In Japan, the plum is the first flower to bloom at the end of a harsh winter, a symbol of overcoming hardship and of good fortune to come. Because the knot is tied tightly and does not easily come undone, it also represents strong, lasting bonds between people.

Gold and navy
